New cast
Well, well, I got a new cast for my right thumb.  The fluorescent orange was so pristine and clean, that I enjoyed it for almost two full days before it needed some 'decorating'.  I just can't help myself.  I sketched some shapes and my son cut them for me.  Then I glued them into place.  LOVE IT!  I am just concerned that my left hand might start getting jealous....my hand batiks just look so lovely and cheerful!  And my splint is so blah...

Major accomplishment today, with the help of 3 assistants (much thanks!!), I managed to get some work shipped to two different venues.  It feels nice that even though I am unable to do much in terms of creating art, I can still advocate for my completed pieces.

You go, girl!! I love that cast. I know I would have to do something like that.

It's the prettiest cast I've ever seen, but aren't your kids dying to sign it?

That is the best cast I have ever seen! I am glad you got some "spreading of the love" today. I hope your time in the cast passes quickly & your are back to playing with fabric soon. <3

perhaps you could experiment with velcro embellishment. Maybe puffy paint has a purpose in life after all?

That is great! Love the cast, of course you couldn't leave it blank!
I hope you are better in no time.

You may have started a new trend! Most casting material is just one color or another (usually white). This fiberglass has class with the addition of your art on it. Well done!

Thanks Kathleen,
I did ask before my foray, if it was okay to glue things to my cast. They said, sure, no problem. Although, I am almost certain that I would have done it anyway. Wouldn't it be a fun job though, to decorate the casts of children, spread a little cheer and beauty?
