I have submitted this quilt for SAQA's traveling trunk show. Members can check out the trunk of small quilts and use them to teach about art quilts. I remember last fall when I saw one of these trunk shows at the Austin Area Quilt Guild. It is a fascinating collection of small art quilts, I loved it! SAQA defines an art quilt as "a contemporary artwork exploring and expressing aesthetic concerns common to the whole range of visual arts: painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design, assemblage and sculpture, which retains, through materials or technique, a clear relationship to the folk art quilt from which it descends." This definition is purposely broad to accommodate the wondrous and exciting art quilts SAQA members are creating.
