Happy Dance and Inspiration

Happy Dance and Inspiration
I guess it's safe to announce my good news now! Though I don't believe it has hit the newsstands yet, I did get my complimentary copies in the mail this week, and the editor, Pokey Bolton, has posted this on her blog.... YAHOO! My quilt, Vertigo, is on the cover! And even more pleasing, the colors are right!! My quilts are sometimes so bright that prints of them look bad, the colors come out wrong. But when I saw this one, I knew they got it right! I even held it up to my quilt and BINGO! It was right on! Fantastic! Good job Quilting Arts!

My article looks good too! And even better, I am in the esteemed good company of Laura Wasilowski, Deborah Boschert, and Jane Davila. It's a fantastic issue, check it out when you get a chance!
Also, I was checking in on some of my favorites, and Ann Flaherty had this youtube on her blog this morning. I absolutely love it. I love what it says about making art. I was surprised at the number of universal themes that artists ask themselves that were so true for me. It was kind of like when you really connect with a song, it rings true for you. That's how this video affected me, and it's all about passing along the inspiration. Enjoy!

You're a cover girl! How cool is that. Loved your article, you write like you talk. Every time I think about our time at Festival in Houston, a large smile forms. What a hoot! Great memories to last till next year. You make everything FUN!

What a great surprise to see your quilt on the cover, I saw it at the AAQG show and the stitching you did on it is beautiful and it has inspired me to challenge myself when stitching my pieces. Way to go Austin girl!!!

Loved your Birds and wonder if I can have your permission to use the design on my project. They would be different colors and probably hand appliqued so not a total copy cat. Congratulations! and Keep having fun doing your work!

Penney,
While I am glad you are enjoying my work, I do not want my images copied. If you will send me your email address, I will be glad to sell you a pattern if I decide to make one. Until then, the images on this blog are copyright protected and not be be copied.
Thanks,
Kathy York
